Day 242

[reading: Robert Love, "Linux Kernel Development"]

Thinking about today's Tube strike, it seemed oddly familiar. Checking the BBC News website, I could see why: the Tube unions have a habit of threatening strikes on the most inconvenient dates possible.

Of course, those weren't the only strikes threatened in the last few years.

Anyway, the key point is this: given their fondness for extracting concessions by threatening strikes on the most high-profile dates, what's going to happen when the Olympics are in London in 2012?

Dang. The comment I worked on yesterday did not go through.

Anyway, I liked the one about the worker playing squash while on sick leave.

The sitution is incredible. They're on strike again today.
They work 35 hrs a week and get 52 days holiday but it's not good enough for them.

Bah!
