Day 225

[reading: G.K.Chesterton, "Father Brown: Selected Stories"]

Following on from my monster tax refund, I just got a cheque from the government refunding some National Insurance. I guess those virgin sacrifices on stacks of inverted tax forms really did the trick.

Also, my latest Amazon aid parcel has sadly undone my good work, and my to-read book stack is back into double figures.

More tax-related marvels! Good for you. I wrote a question to your PAYE system post, but I don't believe it went through properly. I imagine the American and British tax systems are very different for the free-agent/consultant/self-employed. Is that how you are categorized?

Actually, I'm just a normal employee on the payroll. Given that I'm not doing any other (paid) work, that way is easier for the paperwork for both them and me.
